Higher Langridge Farm - Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast near Dulverton the southern gateway to Exmoor. A family run working farm on the Devon/Somerset border.
Our 17th century farmhouse is secluded in peaceful, quiet countryside and enjoys spectacular views over our own peaceful valley. Just 2 miles off the A396 at Exebridge and a short drive from Dulverton a small friendly Exmoor town with an interesting selection of gift shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants. The surrounding landscape is home to many wild animals including red deer, roe deer, badgers, foxes, buzzards, kestrels, to name but a few. |

Bed and Breakfast Accommodation
The 17th century stonebuilt farmhouse has many of the original features preserved, the extra thick stone walls keep the farmhouse warm in winter and cool in summer and inglenook fireplace with woodburning stove gives the large sitting room a nice ambiance in the autumn and winter months. There are original wooden beams and antique pine and elm doors throughout the farmhouse.
There is plenty of off road parking in the old farmyard.

Guests lounge has comfy chairs and sofas and a tv with dvd player, books, magazines, dvds and tourist literature for your information or simply relax by our cosy inglenook fireplace with woodburner.
A small fridge is available for guests.
We are a non-smoking farmhouse and we ask that all guests refrain from smoking.

- A deposit £20 per room for the first night and £10 for each subsequent night is payable at the time of booking - cheques made payable to G. M. Summers. Major credit/debit cards accepted.
- Guests are requested to arrive between 4 and 6pm, a phone call is appreciated for late evening arrivals.

See the ancient clapper bridge over the river Barle dating from 1000BC between Dulverton and Withypool 4 miles from Winsford, some of the stones weigh 5 tons and were said to have been placed there by the devil to win a bet. Take a woodland walk beside the River Barle and enjoy some refreshment at the riverside inn. |

Grand Western Canal, Tiverton
Originally built in 1814 to transport limestone and coal to link Tiverton with Taunton and the River Tone the Grand Western Canal was a working waterway from its construction until 1924. The restored section of the Grand Western Canal, running from Tiverton to Lowdwells, is situated amid beautiful Devon countryside and provides an ideal habitat for many plants and animals, kingfishers are a regular sight feeding along the canal and otters are making a comeback to the area. A horsedrawn barge accompanied by friendly collies departs from the Wharf, Canal Hill, Tiverton through the country park.

Exmoor has over 692 sq.km of moorland, woodland, coastal cliffs, hidden valleys and farmed landscape with over 1000 km of rights of way on Exmoor criss-crossing the National Park.
A variety of walks start at Dulverton enabling you to explore the surrounding woodland. You can also take the “Wednesdays are for Walking” bus (service 44) from Dulverton to Tarr Steps and other popular locations in the area (summer only).

A spacious Land Rover takes leisurely trails of discovery using seldom frequented tracks and ancient byways inaccessible by car searching out the elusive red deer and famous Exmoor ponies in their natural environment. Your driver describes the many aspects of the countryside while pointing out fauna and flora along the way. There are stops to look at things of interest and plenty of opportunities for photography. A typical tour lasts about three hours and is suitable for all age groups.

The nearest beaches on the North Devon coast are at Saunton Sands -
5 miles of golden sands, Croyde Bay with Blue Flag status and Instow, all can be reached in approximately an hour by car.

| Directions: Leave M5 jct 27 A361 to outskirts of Tiverton. At roundabout take last exit for Exmoor, Dulverton, Bampton A396. Continue to Exebridge (signed Dulverton) approx. 10 miles. Turn left at roundhouse past the Anchor Inn over bridge 200 yds take left immediately after end of speed limit signs onto minor road signposted Oldways End, South Molton. After 2 miles farm lane (Higher Langridge) on left.
